Cornell FinTech Avalanche Hackathon

An exciting event hosted by the first
all-encompassing fintech club for
undergraduates at Cornell University,
taking place from April 29 to May 1, 2022.
Sponsored by Ava Labs, Fintech at Cornell,
and The Initiative for CryptoCurrencies
and Contracts (IC3), this hackathon aims
to spark innovation by introducing
participants to fintech concepts and
the Avalanche blockchain platform.
The event was open to Cornell undergraduate students, attendees can participate as mentors, judges, or workshop hosts/speakers, while hacking teams will compete for prizes based on criteria such as overall project quality, technical feasibility, and presentation. Find more at the event website.

Cornell FinTech Intensive
An immersive program designed to empower students with practical knowledge and skills in the burgeoning financial technology sector, this comprehensive program was initiated by Prof. Drew Pascarella and further developed by Prof. Peter Balnaves. Now under the leadership of Ms. Margaret Kinsley, this intensive equips students with the tools needed to excel in finance, tech companies, or entrepreneurship. Through a series of four industry-specific courses during the first seven weeks of the spring semester, participants gain exposure to startup ideas, technical concepts, and real-world case studies, while working in integrated teams drawn from Cornell's residential MBA programs. Engaging in hands-on projects and collaborating with peers, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the FinTech landscape, preparing them for a successful career in this rapidly evolving field.
